Sucks that, in high heat, the armor falls apart.

Anyhoo, I'm nowhere near an expert, but when I researched Medieval Gothic Armor I read that the Germans employed a series of ridges throughout the armor which gave it extra strength and deflect arrows. My question is could this concept be used in modern body armor? The ridges would obviously have to be MUCH smaller but couldn't decreasing the flat surface area and a vast grid of ridges nevertheless contribute to stronger and possibly even lighter armor?

@AnnihilaticJC it's the truth, if they combined a smartphone with the strength and durability of a Nokia Brick no one would ever need a new phone again. Good God man to this day I still remember dropping my old Brick in water (Multiple times), throwing it against a wall, dog chewing it, hitting it with an ax and it STILL wouldn't die. Heck my buddy reassembled his with duct tape and it stopped working only because the battery was SOL. The Brick was like the Chuck Norris of mobile phones
