@ Arijahn767 I think that subtraction makes sense. A level grinding RPG isn't as fun without decent characters to get behind. The world itself isn't exactly a character like it is in something like Skyrim or Fallout.

@shirye LOL! So different can it be viewed. I played every other DQ and IX is just the best of 'em all. So far - after 550 hours - there's still plenty to do in this masterpiece. Maybe you should've completed the main-story, because after that the game really just begins! :-)

wtf? they gave it an 8? Dragon quest 9 sucks so hard... I only played half of it and then i couldn't finish it because the story is stupid and the game is just boring.im sorry but this game ist just bad. I like all the other ones but this one sucks

My friends called me a dragon quest loser. Its their loss they skipped a perfect rpg. :) but boy is it hard! :(. Not to sound noobish, this is the first dragon quest game I own.

@Arjahn767 I don't wanna defend cod but a rpg does rely a bit more on the main characters than a fps does xD. If a rpg doesn't have any supporting characters then the game can become pretty lame
